meet lashaun : LashaunDale

A self described, mom, yogi, and lover of new ideas, faces and places, Lashaun is also an experienced and well esteemed group fitness instructor and personal trainer, and consultant.  She has devoted her life to helping people live happy, healthy and inspired lives.

Beyond imparting the latest in fitness workouts, Lashaun is a lifestyle expert and has researched and designed programs to address such subjects as brain fitness, healthy habits, stress management, sleep deprivation,  yoga, parkour, indoor and outdoor fitness for adults as well as programs to get kids moving off the couch and on their feet through fun and engaging youth workouts,

Lashaun holds advanced education degrees in International Relations, Philosophy and Applied Anthropology, and a Masters in Public Health from the School of Public Health at Columbia University in New York.  Among other training credentials, Lashaun is certified by many organizations including NSCA, CHEK , International Association of Yoga Therapists, and Yoga Tune Up® specializing in fitness, lifestyle choices, yoga, core strength, flexibility training and youth fitness.

Nationally recognized as a star of many industry favorites and best selling fitness DVDs,  she represents Team Body Bar and is featured in the Master Your Body videos:  Core Strength and Stretch, Sportszone, Yogasculpt, Equanimity, Strength Resolutions,  Body Bar Flex.  Her 2010 release Total Body Toning is receiving great reviews and is dedicated to short burst workouts designed to challenge all fitness levels.   Lashaun is a regular at fitness conventions and workshops and is a popular resource among top media editors, and a valuable contributor and trend setter in the fitness industry.  She loves to share workout ideas and has a growing fan-base worldwide.

Entering the fitness field was a natural progression after years of gymnastics and cheerleading.  Naturally athletic, Lashaun’s true passion is, and always has been, fitness and now yoga.  Lashaun has been teaching movement, fitness and yoga classes in Boston, New York City and in her hometown Whitefish, Montana for over 20 years at prestigious studios and clubs including Equinox Fitness Clubs, where she works as the National Creative Manager of Group Fitness.  At Equinox she developed a number of acclaimed workouts and member favorites including Chaos Training, Posture Break, The Dirty Dozen,  and her signature classes, Cardio Boot Camp and Sculpt, The Microsculpting Workout and Free Flow Yoga.  Addicted to self development and learning, Lashaun continues her training with top experts and fitness professionals to develop multiple skills from a wide array of disciplines including fitness, sports conditioning, yoga and conscious movement, just to name a few.

In addition to creating and leading her own classes and DVDs, Lashaun has been involved in many exciting and high-profile projects. A regular contributor to media publications such as SELF, Women’s Health, The New York Times, Vogue and Fitness magazine, Lashaun offers workshops, seminars and master-classes nationally and abroad.  She recently worked with Equinox and Pure Yoga to develop their National Yoga Teacher Training program as well as their Kidasana! Program—a yoga based movement enrichment program for kids age 3-12.

Lashaun believes that everyone, at any age, should adopt a lifestyle that incorporates fitness, good nutrition, and a positive outlook. As a mother of two children under the age of 5, Lashaun is passionate about keeping her kids and all children healthy and fit.  She works regularly with health clubs, schools and local municipalities to integrate movement programs and creative fitness solutions for classrooms and ultimately for the whole family. While living in New York, she founded and operated the Community Fitness Corps, an outreach organization which brings industry professionals to at risk organizations, neighborhoods and schools that need creative fitness solutions delivered for low or no budget.  Each year she also organizes and helps teach a day of fitness for the Fresh Air Fund at Camp Mariah in upstate New York.

Lashaun is committed to inspiring all generations to exercise,  live healthy, well and to create happiness for themselves.  Her mission is  to share the gift of movement with others so they can experience freedom in their lives and feel empowered to achieve their dreams.
